Some Illustrations by Jon Han

I've been reading (and collaging) a lot of magazines lately, and feeling a lot of appreciation for illustrations I find in them. Jon Han is a great example of one of these illustrators, he frequently does work for the New Yorker, LA Times, New York Times and many more. Here are some of his illustrations I like a lot.

Jon is a California based artist (born and raised) and got his BFA from Art Center College of Design there. I really enjoy his illustrations because they are really great at portraying a variety of situations and images by combining a sketchy almost juvenile style with a refined, digital aesthetic. He's also got a great sense for complimentary palettes and colors as well as maintaining good compositional balance even in some quite busy pieces. I also really appreciate his stylish and eye-guiding use of shapes and lines. Great stuff.
